When I decided to do a whole month on email and inbox zero, I knew that I would have to include Gmail Tips and Tricks. So here are my top 5 favorite Gmail Tricks!

This one I love because I love a good ToDo list!

If you select an email and click the hamburger to the right of labels on the menu, you can “Add To Tasks”! It will take that email and create a task using the subject, and it will attach the email, so you don’t have to hunt for it later!!

Did you know that when you signed up for your Gmail account that you actually got more than one email address? I bet your like 🤷‍♀️ WHAT?? No, you’re crazy…

I know it sounds crazy, but if you sign up for an email account example janedoe@gmail.com. You can use jane.doe@gmail.com or janedoe+1@gmail.com.

An alias works out great when you use your Gmail filters (NOTE: check out my YouTube Video on filters) you can do janedoe+junk@gmail.com and filter it straight to your trash!

Colored Labels

I’m a big fan of color. I like to see red for important or urgent, pink or purple for my daughter’s activities, blue for my sons, and so on.

Gmail lets me do this with my labels! To see what I’m talking about hover over a label in your account until you see the three dots a.k.a hamburger menu. At the top of the menu, you will see “Label Color.” It has quite a few color options.

If you want to change a label that has sub-folders all to the same color, just click the top-level folder and change the color! Ta-da! Beautiful!

I’m not talking about taking a nap… 😜

Do you get those emails that you need to remember in two days or a week? The answer snooze it!

Hover over the email you want to snooze and click the clock that shows over to the right or right-click the email you want to snooze and select Snooze and pick from the defaults or select from a calendar! It won’t show in your inbox again until that date/time. If you want to see it before, then you can check out the Snoozed folder.

Last but not least… their sidebar! It has been around for over a year now but still gets overlooked a lot of the time. It comes with Calendar, Notepad, and Tasks. If you click the plus icon, you can add more Add-Ons! Check out the plugin list and see what works for you.

Let me know if you find any add-ons that are life-changing!
